Sabrina Erdely.  Jackie made it up.  OMG.  I thought Jackie was the woman who made up the Duke lacrosse rape case.

“It takes trauma victims some time to come forward with all the details,” Erdely said, explaining why she remained unskeptical after she learned that Jackie had told two versions of the story to her first-year roommate. “It’s not unusual.”

The Derrick Rose civil case ended with a not guilty verdict.  They had something like an 18-month boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.  If it was a scam, that’s how long it took to develop.

The Duke rape case deserves yet another review.  I’ve done it before.  The last I remember another reporter was living there and researching in depth the life of the supposed victim.  Bathtub murder or suicide?  The Duke players represented the elite and opposition…

    EDIT

Crystal Mangum is in jail for murder.

“I felt if I took the plea nobody would know what really happened,” she told “48 Hours.” “It would be like accepting what the prosecution said happened that night. It would be like accepting that they said there was no abuse with Michael or me.”

    neurosis.  and relentless ignorance.

  • Nostalgia

I have a feeling this is going to be here, at the top, for a while because it is not nearly finished.  I’m often not completely satisfied with a lot of things posted here but, after a few days, I am content enough to let things be and move on.  This one is going to take longer.

If you could see my inbox from, say the moon, you would see why.  I may have read half or two-thirds of them.  It was the only thing I could do at the time.  I have to read them.

Now, after over half a year, it is not a real conversation.  And time provides a different perspective.

It is a huge challenge.  Dialogue is the most fun to write; I have always been fascinated by email and texts as dialogue.  I am not naming names.  It is only about the positives and the learnings.  If I wrote it I can do what I want with it.  Same for if it is on web.  If she said it or wrote it that is a little harder to decide…  Made-up is of course fine too.

OMG, I didn’t remember.  I went back to an old computer.  There’s a “hide Ms. X” folder.

Yesterday night and a little bit this morning I was feeling nostalgic.

    http://greenhillsranch.com/

“Acquiring” phase (not my word).  It is an accomplishment.  It still looks awfully lonely.

I continued my snooping from a year and half ago for just a short while.  Very little has changed.  But I had never heard of Kalama, Washington or Wendy Wilson, nor had I read the details about Ruth McEndoo.  (To get the details the detective had to talk to Mr. X and Ms. X, but he had to do it separately.  And it is unusual that a small local paper would make a request to obtain the documents.  I can see, a bit, where the hiding comes from.)  I was hoping to find good news–that all the problems from before had been resolved and that everything was going really well.  I was told publicity and creating traffic would be a new strategy.  I thought I might even find a new address or person.  That is what I wished-for.

Every week something new hits me.  It is a very rare person who can do that.

I hope she calls in two years when she is her own woman.

Hi and thank you for writing. I appreciate women who go for it and try to respond if there is a way.

I was just thinking today–because I AM in the mood and want to try speed dating!–that there are some personality tests here. I like another site, another dating site which has a great matching system. I’ll tell you, I recently “completed” a fairly long distance encounter there with someone just like me and I’ll never forget it. So I can attest that it is possible to do some real target marketing.

Perhaps what you are saying in part is I am smart, articulate, and have a general understanding of how the world works, including law and politics. I’m not bragging whatsoever but–I do respond to women’s profiles and sincere efforts. Occasionally I will write something that will get some real attention. Two of the three Jefferson County commissioners I would call close contacts and the third knows me too; one is a Democrat and one is a Republican.

Someday I will post it in my profile–people who know me know it–that usually when I say something there is something more behind it. I’m unusually sensitive and introspective (for a man). When I write something I have usually done my research and chosen my words carefully–there is always something more behind it.

So, with all due and appropriate respect, I disagree. Politics is something that is unimportant. There are plenty of legal, available, energetic, online, and other ways to do what one wants to and I respect all of it.

Oh, there is a question on OKC about it and my response is… Tolerant in terms of quantitative voting; written response of “More and more I’m thinking I don’t understand political ideology. It varies with the issues.”

To answer your question, I used to call myself a Gerald Ford (left-wing) Republican. (I knew Ford and his cronies from Michigan and specifically my fraternity there.) Now I would say I am more tolerant of the Democratic party too.

Finally, I do this too… remark on women’s profiles. Always, they’re appreciative because they have no idea how they may be viewed by the opposite sex. Yours is one of the worst I have seen. It is all “I want.” And you come off as extremely intolerant, something that… Most people go the other way as they get older. I lived in LA too (Santa Monica and Westwood) and love it too. I especially liked/learned that… liberal/trends go East for sure, but pretty darn conservative parts too. I think it is cool that everyone seems to recognize and accept that.

Ouch.  But since we don’t believe in denial around here, it is now public.  Motivation for the single guy.

This is day 3 of 30.  It is now day 7 of 30 and things have improved already.

  • Update on the golf hole

“Gophers, not golfers, you idiot.  I want you to kill all the gophers!”

Around here they are voles.  They are a combination of every rural rodent.  They look like a platypus, only smaller.

You never want to denigrate your product, but Tree Protectors work for this as well…
